How to get clean up pencil lines from inked sketches.
Merry Christmas have a tutorial.
This is useful for people who have traditional work that needs to be cleaned up digitally or people who’ve done things such as accidentally ink on the same layer as your sketchwork or accidentally flatten your layers and can’t do anything about it.
It’s the easiest to do this job in photoshop so I’m focusing on that. This usually just takes a minute to do.
If you work with blue or red lead you can go down to step 5.
1) Pull up your sketch or scan it in.
(In this case I just grabbed preexisting artwork and flattened it to us as an example, for you guys ~~~<3)

2) Go to images-> Adjustments-> Hue/Saturation or cmd+U (mac) or ctrl+U (windows) pulling up the adjustments window.

3) After this window you click on the box marked “colorize” which will color tone your work.

4) Adjust your hue settings to a untill they’re around a cyan color and pump the saturation up as high as you can get it. Afterwards hit “OK.”

5) There’s actually a number of ways you can do can remove the blue such as using the curves, levels, or channels. I just go back into Hue/Saturation again. cmd+U or ctrl+U

6) This time, we’re going to click master, and scroll down to “cyan”
(If you’re working in a different color pencil lead like red or blue just go to the those settings. IE going to “Reds” instead of “Cyan”)

7a) Take the “lightness” and adjust it till most of the color has been removed.

7b) If there’s still some traces of color just move down to blues and do the same thing adjusting the lighting.

THEN WOLLAH! You’re art should be pretty clean.
